What is a Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA)?

A Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) is a legal document that lets you appoint one or more people (known as ‘attorneys’) to make decisions on your behalf. This can cover your health and welfare or your property and financial affairs.

With Five Minute LPA, you can complete the online questionnaire in as little as 5 minutes. Once submitted, our team will review and prepare your documents. You will then need to print, sign, and send them to the Office of the Public Guardian for registration.

No, you do not need a solicitor. Our service guides you through the entire process online. All documents are checked by a professional before being sent to you. This means you get the same quality at a fraction of the cost.

The Office of the Public Guardian charges £82 per LPA to register. This is separate from our service fee. If you’re on a low income, you may be eligible for a reduced fee or exemption.

A Health & Welfare LPA covers decisions about your medical treatment, care, and daily routine. It can only be used when you’ve lost mental capacity. A Property & Financial Affairs LPA covers decisions about your finances, property, and bills. This can be used while you still have mental capacity if you choose.

Yes, you can log back into your account at any time to amend your LPA before it is finalised. If you need to make changes after the LPA has been registered, you would need to create a new one.
